Description
The home of Warren A. Armstrong at 1761 Roxbury Road was the fifth home to begin construction in Upper Arlington . However , Armstrong family members are considered to be the first residents of Upper Arlington , other than the Millers and the Howards , because they lived in the second floor of the Gun Club on Fifth Avenue at Arlington Avenue while their home was being built . Construction of their home was completed in 1915 . Mr . Armstrong was a member of the sales force of the Upper Arlington Company , and he was also active in the early government of Upper Arlington . Warren A. Armstrong was elected as the treasurer of the first Village Commission , served on the Board of Appraisers , and was a Deputy Marshall in 1918 . His son , Warren C . Armstrong , served as the mayor of Upper Arlington from 1958 through 1964 . Mrs . Armstrong's parents , Mr . and Mrs . H . W . Carmack , lived across the street at 1740 Roxbury Road , the fourth house to be completed in Upper Arlington .
